After years of wandering through Balerno, I found myself drawn to its little landmarks—the old stones, forgotten corners, and curious details that seemed to whisper of the past. Intrigued, I turned to AI for answers. It led me down plenty of wrong turns, but eventually, the puzzle pieces began to fit together, revealing a story too good to keep to myself.
 

Brimming with enthusiasm, I knocked on my neighbour’s door, eager to share my discoveries. That conversation led me to a local historian, whom I promptly pestered with questions.
